Basic Concepts

Silicone rubber sheets are sheet-like elastomeric polymer materials produced by compounding silicone rubber with reinforcing agents, vulcanizing agents, and additives, followed by calendering or extrusion and high-temperature vulcanization molding. Classified as a specialty synthetic rubber product, they combine the temperature resistance of silicone with the high elasticity of rubber; they are available in standard thicknesses ranging from 0.1 mm to 50 mm and come in various forms, such as solid-color, fabric-reinforced, foam, and conductive types.

Advantages of Silicone Rubber Sheet

1. Ultra-wide temperature range:

Long-term use -60℃~200℃, short-term high temperature resistance of 250~300℃, no hardening and brittleness at low temperatures, stable performance in alternating hot and cold conditions.

 

2. Aging resistance and weather resistance:

Resistant to ultraviolet rays, ozone, and rainwater, it will not pulverize or crack after being used outdoors for several years; it is resistant to oil, weak acids, weak alkali, and solvent corrosion.

 

3. Insulation and flame retardant:

It has excellent insulation properties and can be made into flame-retardant grade V0 sheets, suitable for electrical sealing insulation; no open flame dripping, high safety.

 

4. Environmentally friendly and non-toxic:

Food-grade silicone rubber sheets have no odor, no plasticizers, meet food contact and medical testing standards, and can come into contact with food and human skin.

 

5. Good elasticity and sealing properties:

It has a high compression rebound rate, is not easily deformed permanently under pressure, has outstanding sealing, waterproof, dustproof and shock-absorbing effects; the surface is smooth and does not stick to foreign matter.

 

6. Special additional properties can be customized:

It can be made into special plates such as conductive, thermal conductive, non-slip, non-slip, self-adhesive, cloth-reinforced, foam buffer, etc.

 

Main Types of Silicone Rubber Sheet

1. By Hardness (Shore A):

• Soft: 20°–40°; high cushioning, conforming seal;

• Standard: 50°–70°; general-purpose sealing and gaskets (most common on the market);

• Hard: 80°–95°; wear-resistant, load-bearing, anti-slip pads.

2. By Function/Material Grade:

(1). Standard Industrial Silicone Sheet: General sealing, low cost, not suitable for food contact;

(2). Food-Grade Silicone Sheet: Platinum-cured, non-toxic and odorless, safe for direct food contact;

(3). Medical-Grade Silicone Sheet: Good biocompatibility, sterile, resistant to disinfectants;

(4). Foamed Silicone Sheet (Silicone Sponge): Porous and lightweight, excellent cushioning and thermal insulation;

(5). Fabric-Reinforced Silicone Sheet: Embedded with fiberglass or polyester fabric; high tensile strength, tear-resistant;

(6). Conductive/Anti-static Silicone Sheet: Contains conductive carbon black to dissipate static electricity;

(7). Thermally Conductive Silicone Sheet: Filled with aluminum oxide; used for heat dissipation in electronics.

3. By Surface Structure:

Smooth finish, matte anti-slip, grid-pattern anti-slip, and single-sided or double-sided adhesive-backed silicone sheets.

4. By Temperature Resistance:

Standard (ambient temperature), high-temperature resistant, and ultra-low-temperature (cold-resistant) types.

5. Medical Industry:

Medical device gaskets, surgical cushioning pads, disposable medical isolation pads, waterproof components for medical devices.

 

6. Mold & Composite Processing:

High-temperature pads for hot stamping and heat press machines; silicone liners for vacuum laminators; cushioning layers for molds.

 

7. Construction & Home Furnishing:
