Definition of Plastics

Plastic refers to a plastic (flexible) material formed by processing with high molecular weight synthetic resin as the main component, adding appropriate additives such as plasticizers, stabilizers, antioxidants, flame retardants, lubricants, colorants, etc., or a rigid material formed by curing and cross-linking. It is widely used in the construction and chemical industries, and is used in chemical, environmental protection, and building boards. It has the characteristics of wear resistance, vibration resistance, corrosion resistance, recyclability, high strength, anti-aging, waterproof, moisture-proof, not easy to deform, and reusable. Moreover, the replaced hard plastic can be recycled and processed, which greatly reduces the cost.

Classification of Plastics

According to the performance, it can be divided into general plastics, engineering plastics, and special engineering plastics. Common ones include PVC plastic sheets, polypropylene (PP) plastic sheets, polyethylene (PE) plastic sheets, and ABS plastic sheets, etc.

Development trend and market space

The plastic sheet and rod industry is a sub-industry of the plastic products industry. The entire plastic products industry in my country is closely related to the macro-economy. Application of plastics

1. Construction and decoration

Interior decoration: PVC sheet and acrylic sheet are used for walls, ceilings, partitions, etc., which are waterproof, moisture-proof and easy to clean.

Advertising logo: Acrylic sheet is widely used in light boxes, signs, display racks, etc. due to its high transparency and weather resistance.

Floor and wall panels: PE or PVC foam sheet is used for composite floor base to provide buffering and sound insulation.

2. Industrial manufacturing

Mechanical protection: Ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) sheet is used for wear-resistant lining, slide rails, etc., suitable for mines and food processing equipment.

Chemical anti-corrosion: Polypropylene (PP) sheet and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sheet are used for acid and alkali resistant storage tanks and pipeline linings.

Electronic insulation: PC sheet and PVC sheet are used for circuit board support, insulation baffles, etc.

Bearings and gears: POM (Saigang) rods are used for low-friction gears and bearings, replacing metal to reduce weight.

Guide shafts: Nylon rods are used for conveyor belt rollers and linear motion parts, which are wear-resistant and low-noise.

Insulation parts: PTFE rods are used for high-frequency circuit insulators and cable brackets, which are resistant to high temperatures and non-conductive.

Structural support: PC rods are used for drone frames and electronic housings, combining strength and lightness.

3. Chemical and fluid processing

Valves and seals: PTFE rods are used for corrosion-resistant valve bushings and sealing rings, suitable for strong acid and alkali environments.

Pipeline connection: PVC rods are processed into pipe joints for chemical fluid delivery systems.

Model making: Acrylic rods and ABS rods are used for 3D printing and handmade models, which are easy to cut and bond.

Furniture accessories: Nylon rods are used for customized furniture connectors, which are resistant to aging and have strong load-bearing capacity
