WEITEN 630 Corrugated Metal Gasket consists of a metal core with concentric grooves on both sides, coated with expanded graphite or PTFE layer. The thickness of metal can be thinner, e.g. 3mm, 2mm, 1mm, 0.5mm, compared with 620 Kammprofile gasket, and the corrugation pitch is 3mm, 4mm or 6mm depending on the width of the sealing face.
2.Advantages of Corrugated Gasket
High Sealing Reliability, Especially Suited for Harsh Conditions: Its multi-channel concentric arc-corrugation structure creates a series of "sealing barriers," effectively preventing media leakage. Even under conditions involving high temperatures, high pressures, strong corrosiveness, or severe temperature fluctuations, its reliability significantly surpasses that of standard flat gaskets.
Minimal Flange Requirements and Low Sealing Stress: The corrugated structure possesses strong compensation capabilities, effectively filling minor irregularities, scratches, or warping on flange faces. Furthermore, the compressive force required for sealing is substantially lower than that needed for spiral-wound or serrated gaskets, thereby protecting the flanges and simplifying the installation process.
Robust Resistance to Thermal Cycling and Pressure Fluctuations: During frequent system startups and shutdowns—or periods of severe pressure fluctuation—the inherent resilience of the metal corrugations allows the gasket to automatically adjust in response to flange deformation, thereby preventing leaks caused by asynchronous movement. Its performance is particularly outstanding under conditions involving thermal shock and alternating pressure cycles.
High Adaptability and Long Service Life: The metal core is reusable; only the facing material (such as graphite or PTFE) requires replacement, resulting in low maintenance costs. By selecting appropriate metal and facing materials, the gasket can effectively handle virtually any process medium across a wide temperature range (from -200°C to 1000°C).
3.Main Types of Corrugated Gasket
When encountering mechanical connections subject to vibration, rotation, or motion—such as those found in engines, robots, or electric motors—you will most likely find wave spring washers in use.
Conversely, when observing piping, pressure vessels, pumps, and valves—particularly within chemical plants or power stations, and especially in systems conveying gases, liquids, or steam—corrugated gaskets are the sealing components most commonly employed.
