Plastic King--PTFE Film

21 - Jul - 2025

PTFE Film is a high-performance film material based on polytetrafluoroethylene resin, made by molding, turning or blow molding. It is widely used in high-end industrial fields such as electrical insulation, sealing, anti-corrosion lining, etc., and is known as the "King of Plastics" for its excellent performance.

Main characteristics of PTFE Film

1.High temperature resistance

Can work for a long time in a wide temperature range of -200°C to +260°C, and some short-term temperature resistance can reach 300°C.

2.Excellent chemical stability

Almost no reaction with any chemicals, resistant to corrosion by strong acids, strong alkalis and various organic solvents.

3.Extremely low friction coefficient

Has the lowest friction coefficient among plastics (about 0.04), self-lubricating, suitable for friction parts and sliding parts.

4.Excellent electrical insulation performance

High dielectric strength and low dielectric constant, widely used in the insulation layer of high-frequency cables and electronic components.

5.Non-stickiness

The surface energy is extremely low, almost no adhesion to any substance, very easy to clean.

6.Excellent weather resistance

It has strong resistance to ultraviolet rays, oxidation, and aging, and can be used outdoors for a long time without discoloration or cracking.

Common types of PTFE Film

Skived PTFE Film: Made by precision turning the pressed PTFE round rods, with a wide range of thicknesses, suitable for high-performance seals, gaskets, linings and other applications.

Expanded PTFE Film: After biaxial stretching, it forms a microporous structure that is breathable and impermeable. It is often used in medical filter membranes and battery separators.

Conductive PTFE Film: Made by adding carbon black or other conductive fillers, it has both insulating and conductive properties and is used in special electronic devices.

Application fields of PTFE Film:

1. Electronic and electrical: cable insulation, printed circuit boards, flexible circuits, etc.

2. Chemical anti-corrosion: pipeline lining, tank lining, sealing gaskets.

3. Medical industry: vascular patches, artificial membranes, breathable antibacterial films.

4. Mechanical industry: bearing washers, lubricating bushings, self-lubricating parts.

5. Aerospace and military industry: high-temperature insulation films, radar antenna insulation covers, etc.
