HDPE Sheet

17 - Sep - 2025

HDPE, scientifically known as high-density polyethylene, is a thermoplastic made from the polymerization of ethylene monomers. HDPE sheet is made primarily from HDPE resin through processes such as extrusion or compression molding.

HDPE Sheet

Main characteristics of HDPE Sheet

1.High Strength and Toughness: It exhibits high mechanical strength, excellent impact and tensile strength, and maintains excellent toughness even at low temperatures.

2.Excellent Chemical Stability: It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance to most acids, alkalis, saline solutions, and organic solvents, making it an ideal material for chemical containers and tank linings. (This is a key difference from rubber, which will be discussed in detail later.)

3.Extremely Low Water Absorption: Its dense molecular structure makes it virtually non-absorbent and resistant to moisture deformation, making it ideal for humid and underwater environments.

4.Excellent Electrical Insulation: It is an excellent electrical insulating material for use in the electrical and electronics industries.

5.Self-lubricating and Non-stick Properties: Its low surface coefficient of friction prevents adhesion to other materials and provides excellent wear resistance.

6.Odorless and non-toxic: It meets food hygiene standards (such as USDA and FDA certification) and can be used in food processing, medical devices, and other fields.

7.Easy to process: As a thermoplastic, it can be easily welded, bent, and cut by heat fusion, providing great flexibility in processing and molding.

8.Low density: It is lighter than water (density approximately 0.941-0.965 g/cm³) and floats on water.

Application fields of HDPE Sheet:

1.Chemical industry: Linings and panels for electroplating tanks, pickling tanks, environmental wastewater treatment equipment, and chemical storage tanks.

2.Logistics and transportation: Pallets, cargo boxes, and container liners.

3.Food industry: Cutting boards, worktops, and parts for food conveying machinery.

4.Municipal engineering: Underground drainage pipes and cable protection conduits.

5.Other applications: Skis, water sports equipment, children's play equipment, etc.
