Expanded PTFE sheet, also commonly known as ePTFE sheet, is a sheet-like sealing material made from polytetrafluoroethylene resin through a specialized process (stretching, expanding, etc.). It's not simply a skived PTFE sheet; rather, the microstructure of the PTFE is modified through processing, resulting in unique properties.
Core Manufacturing Process:
Ordinary PTFE (commonly known as the "king of plastics") is dense. Expanded PTFE, on the other hand, is made by stretching the PTFE in a specific direction at high speed, creating a large number of tiny, interconnected, porous fibers within it. This is like stretching a ball of cotton into a network of micropores.

1.Excellent flexibility and compression resilience
This is its biggest difference from ordinary PTFE sheet. Ordinary PTFE is hard and highly creep-resistant (easily deformed by cold flow). ePTFE, on the other hand, is extremely flexible and easy to install. It can be compressed under external force and then rebound when the pressure is reduced, compensating for changes in the sealing surface gap caused by temperature and pressure fluctuations, achieving a long-lasting seal.
2.Unparalleled Temperature Resistance
Inheriting the excellent properties of PTFE, it can operate stably and long-term in extreme temperatures ranging from -240°C to +260°C, and can even withstand short-term temperatures up to 300°C.
3.Excellent Chemical Resistance
It is resistant to nearly all known strong acids, strong bases, strong oxidizers, organic solvents, and oils, making it the true "king of corrosion resistance."
4.Non-aging and Non-hardening
Extremely stable to the atmosphere and UV rays, it offers an extremely long service life. Unlike rubber gaskets, it will not age, become brittle, or crack over time.
5.Extremely Low Permeability
The micropore structure is larger than gas molecules, yet the tortuous paths it creates effectively prevent the penetration of most fluids. It is particularly suitable for sealing gases, volatile liquids, and vacuum environments.
6.Purely Inert and Ultra-High Cleanliness
It contains no plasticizers or silicones, preventing contamination of the media. Therefore, it is widely used in high-purity industries such as food, pharmaceuticals, and semiconductors.
7.Excellent Machinability
It can be easily cut and stamped into various shapes like ordinary gaskets, facilitating on-site fabrication and installation.
1.Highly corrosive environments: Flange seals for pumps, valves, and reactors in the chemical, petroleum, and pharmaceutical industries.
2.Extreme temperature environments: Sealing cryogenic equipment and high-temperature steam pipelines.
3.High cleanliness requirements: Sealing equipment for food processing, biopharmaceuticals, and semiconductor chip manufacturing.
4.Anti-adhesion seals: Used in equipment handling sticky materials (such as slurries and resins) to prevent them from adhering to the gasket.
